Ball State Sports Link, an immersive learning production, returns with Episode Two of Season Three of its, behind-the-scenes, all-access series “Out of the Shadows: Ball State Men’s Basketball”.
The series, which earned an Emmy Award in 2015 for student-produced informative series, airs locally on WIPB-TV in Muncie and across the state on Indiana Comcast 81. All episodes are on-demand at ballstatesports.com.
Ball State head coach James Whitford has again granted Sports Link exclusive access to the team in 2015-16 including on the bus, in the locker room and team meetings. The series includes five, 30-minute episodes this year.
“Ball State Sports Link is a tremendous asset for our university, our athletic department and our basketball program,” Whitford said. “The quality of their work is exceptional, and their professionalism is outstanding. We are excited to once again be part of Out of the Shadows, and we can’t wait to see what this season has in store.”
Episode two highlights the exceptional start to the season that the Ball State Men’s basketball team has had, in addition to exclusive looks into the lives and stories of players Nate Wells, Naiel Smith, Sean Sellers, and more.
This season, senior Dillon Welch and junior Matt Organ are the show’s executive producers. Senior Jeremiah Davis is earning credit as a member of Ball State Sports Link and is serving as a coordinating producer of the series.
Throughout the season, all students in Ball State Sports Link and those in the new Digital Sports Production track will contribute to the show.
Additional distribution will be available through ballstatesports.com and Ball State’s social media platforms (@bsusportslink and @BallStateMBB). Every episode will also be available in the Ball State Sports Link iPad App, which can be downloaded for free in the Apple App Store.
